Artist’s statement:

This collage was assembled in a puzzle process: selecting random shapes that fit together to create a unified whole.

After painting and cutting the pieces, I responded to the directional lines of the shapes themselves. How could the separate sections fit together in a cohesive composition? What textural and tonal edits would enrich the image?

Similarly, as individuals and as organizations, we establish parameters and we respond to guidelines. By being both purposeful and reactive, we fulfill our initiatives through a thoughtful and creative process.
