** FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE **

#AVSquared 2nd-annual competition is up and running—
with nearly 20 submissions already

(Monday 13 October 2014 :: ATLANTA) Remember all those snazzy Instagram photos you took this year and thought, “Wow, that turned out nice.” Well, it’s time to put them to good use!

ARTvision and
Positive Impact are proud to announce the return of “ARTvision Squared” — a photo competition that allows everyone, including and especially those who’ve not shown work before, to submit their photographs from Instagram. Those images will be judged by our ARTvision jury and, if selected, could earn money for our beneficiary, Positive Impact.

Each image should reflect this year’s theme: “art20: within the oceans,” and should be
your original image and not shown or offered anywhere else. Just prior to our Main Event, the AV jury will select the top-10 images for framing and display, and choose three for the top prize.

Think of it as a competition within our annual event: your great photo is elevated, and we’re able to make some much-needed money for Positive Impact in the process.

Here’s how #AVSquared works: If you have an existing photo you’d like to enter, go in and add
#AVSquared as a hashtag (here’s a help page on how to add hashtags to existing pictures). Any photos you’d like to nominate, new or existing, must contain that hashtag. You may not tag someone else’s photo without their permission first; photos can be tagged after the fact by adding the hashtag in the photo-comments section. Check out our entries thus far:

Once you have #AVSquared included in your photo, e-mail the image to artvisiondirector [at] stonefour [dot] com with “AVSquared 2014” as your subject, and in the e-mail body, include all pertinent information:

  • Your name
  • Title of the photo (required)
  • Location
  • A description of the image, including which app you used
  • How does this image reflect a peaceful world? (be as lengthy as you want)

Although our jury convenes for the Main Event’s submissions in early November, the deadline for #AVSquared will be early December—to give us ample time to have lots of tags and activity for this competition.

The same
rules and guidelines apply to ARTvision Squared that do for the general show, too. (learn more about how ARTvision works) Our Top 10 #AVSquared images will be framed identically and displayed on a wall during ARTvision’s main event at Stone Four Studios in December. Artists who display in our main show are eligible to participate in ARTvision Squared, too.

This is your chance to add a small picture to make a big impact. You may submit up to four images if you wish. Thanks for helping this year be our best year ever!
