‘A Christmas Snowbird’ by Mary Pollock

(30 November 2011 :: Atlanta & Charlottesville) Following big success with “Ladies of a Certain Age” and “Nantucket Morning,” Mary Pollock returns to ARTvision with “A Christmas Snowbird,” which is a drawing that my parents sent as a Christmas Card about 30 years ago.

Although minimalistic and greytoned, the piece is long and slender, much like its subject, and presents quite a marriage between framing and image. Framed beautifully by Walt Woodall at Metro Gallery & Framing, the back of the piece features the greeting page of the card that’s been cut out and mounted.

Mary is sister of the late Betsy Weedon, in whose honor
ARTvision was founded. She lives in Charlottesville with her husband, my brother and his family.

“A Christmas Snowbird” is offered for a donation to Positive Impact of $
850.
